Hannah Threlfall14:10 10 Nov 23I signed up for the 6 week body transformation initially to help me get my pre baby body back after gaining a lot of weight through pregnancy. I lost 8.6kgs in the 6 weeks and have since renewed my membership to continue with my progress and I’m almost down 10kgs in total only 2kgs away from my pre pregnancy weight. I have always hated going to the gym and would dread going initially but now I am 8 weeks in, training 3x per week and feeling fitter and much happier in myself it is something I definitely want to continue. I feel it has really changed my lifestyle and I am making healthier choices everyday with a much more positive outlook, my family have commented that the old Hannah is back as before I felt I’d lost myself since becoming a mum for the first time. Chris and Luca are incredibly knowledgeable about anatomy which was very important to me after having a C-section and I have seen huge improvements in my core and lower back stability. It was an excellent decision as the sessions are three times a week which quickly got me in a good rhythm. Chris and Luca are both fantastic and very patient with a newbie like myself who had never lifted weights before. They have really helped me understand fitness and weight lifting a lot better. They also adjusted any exercises based on my capabilities as I had an injured shoulder for a while, and with the rehab exercises they gave me that’s now back to normal. I was 12 weeks pregnant with my first child. As a trained dancer, and teacher I was hoping to maintain my levels of fitness whilst minimising the risks of my pregnancy. My early dance training concentrated on training my limbs, while often neglecting my ‘centre’ or ‘core’. It wasn’t until a back injury in 2012 due to weak lower back muscles that my approach to training changed. When I first found out about my pregnancy, I worried about my back and how to keep it strong.Chris helped me through my pregnancy teaching me safe ways of keeping my core strong, helping with my postural alignment as well as addressing some muscular imbalances that I wasn’t aware I had. Most importantly, Chris gave me the confidence to continue training through pregnancy. I knew I was in safe hands. The same happened when I started here, with my over eagerness to improve leading to the same old injury. “I approached Chris at Nxtep because I had been feeling like my fitness had really decreased and so had my confidence as a result. He was recommended by two different people because of his approachable nature and effectiveness.
Before I started with Chris I had a very vague idea about my ‘fitness goals’. I had had very mixed results with different gym memberships and often found myself disappointed with this. Chris really helped shape and define not only my bingo wings, but also the idea I had in my head of how I wanted to look and feel.
I started my training back in February, during the start of what would become the COVID-19 pandemic. Any initial concerns I had were immediately assuaged by Chris’s professional and proactive responses to government guidelines. All equipment was sanitised and disinfected before and after using and clear social distancing was followed. As lockdown intensified, Chris continued his dedicated services via video-link. The quality and quantity of these sessions never wavered and I still felt like I was receiving the same caliber of training I had been promised – albeit no two sessions were ever the same, which really helped keep me to motivated and interested.

Chris Nicklin is AMAZING at what he does. He made mine and my husbands personal training sessions fun and interesting. He shows a passion for his training and is such a lovely person to be around. I was a yo-yo dieter and Chris taught me to eat well and not be hungry by starving myself and how to track everything but still enjoy yourself in moderation. My body fat has decreased a lot and I know my body well concentrating on how I felt not what the scales said and Chris even managed to get me running which was a massive achievement for me. It gave me the confidence I really needed and he always made me feel comfortable (and didn’t let me get away with being lazy.) Couldn’t recommend him enough.”

“If I was to be brutally honest with myself, I would not say I am that sort of person who enjoys following a gym routine. The hours, the energy, the structure, the 4000+ calories a day that was needed for me at the beginning. It is something I found daunting and it usually got the better of me by me giving up.
That is until I met Chris Nicklin; I can safely say that I would not be in the shape I am now without this guy. He is truly an amazing personal trainer; reliable, efficient, personal, blunt, funny and made me feel completely at ease with just being me around the gym environment. I was not scared or in-fact ashamed of asking for tips or asking if I was doing this right or wrong because Chris is, and has now, become a friend. When I wasn’t being trained by Chris so during my own sessions. I was not intimidated to reach out and ask a question which was answered with rapid response and just pure professional.
Constantly checking in; without making it seem like I am just a number, and full well knowing that their interactions via email, instagram (@nxtep_personal_training), etc makes the fitness journey a lot more personal. Almost like a family member. This is what I mentioned at the beginning of my training; the idea of being treated as a person whilst training was going to make me flourish and Chris has all the energy, banter and expertise to make sure you reach those goals and smash them out of the park.
On some days, he even let me work out to Cher so you know he puts his own personal thoughts on the back burner so his clients can have a thoroughly enjoyable and fabulous work out session.

I train my upper body in my own time and go to Nxtep for their specialist instruction to train my lower body and core… areas of the body I have ignored for so long as I had no idea what I could do!
My sessions are packed full of exercises designed to enable me to load my weight more evening between my good and bad leg and drills to improve my balance and coordination. I now feel so much more capable, stronger and confident and it’s all down to the Nxtep Team.”
